‘Small stories with a double floor’ – the artist Annemarie Laner’s description of her series of etchings in combination with the engraving technique produced especially for Hotel Greif. In her “Nidifugous” cycle in Room No. 110 she examines the fleetingness of the moment in an ironic manner:
‘All-too familiar symbols and abbreviations lose their ingrained contexts, the fleeting is picked up playfully and manipulated in a suggestive manner.’
A further discovery awaits the guest in the cosy seating corner placed on a red “Gabbeh” carpet. Sit down and open the curtains: floor-level windows open onto a private terrace and – weather permitting – a view of the Dolomites.
The bathroom equipped with a whirlpool is executed in black marble. The fascinating inserts are evocative of the effect of engraving, the technique which the artist has used in her works on display in the bedroom.
