A thrilling encounter between an eventful still life and a sensual body landscape.
Artist Gotthard Bonell
Gotthard Bonell in Room 207 at the Greif opening in 2000
Objects are of fundamental importance for South Tyrolean artist Gotthard Bonell. They are the source from which his paintings and drawings develop. Miraculously, the objects in his triptych for Room 207 do not keep still: the artfully draped leather glove, the sumptuous folds of a fur blanket seem to flicker restlessly, moved by a sophisticated erotic force. Is this still a picture, or has it become a state of mind?
