Alexander Koester
You won’t find ’Venus and the Ducks’ in mythology. Only at the Greif, in Room 208.

Alexander Koester, Two Ducks in Flight (1932)
Imagine Venus bathing among ducks, and you have an idea of how well the pencil drawing ’Two Ducks in Flight’ by Alexander Koester (1864–1932) goes with the Venus wallpaper by Florin Kompatscher. This German artist had a preference for close-ups from nature in which he explored the reflections of light on ponds, reeds and trees ... and the ducks that made him famous in all their many poses. Koester lived in Klausen, to the north of Bolzano, from 1896 to 1914.
