The watcher is watched. What we see is who we are.

Artist Oliviero Rainaldi and his ‘Gisant’

Watchable: Oliviero Rainaldi in Room 212
The moment you enter Room 212, your gaze is drawn to the blue-green head above the bed. Human existence is the theme of Italian artist Oliviero Rainaldi. Two of his recurring themes are his head motif, and the prostrate man who hovers above the seating group in Room 212. ‘You are observed, you observe, and you find strength in that very weakness,’ says Rainaldi. ‘The rest is about stepping optimistically into the unknown.’
