Klaus Stephan

Three colourful, powerful works by Austrian artist Klaus Stephan arrest the eye in Room 103, lending the room contours and adding interest. Stephan draws, and he paints in watercolours and oils. He uses these traditional media in a totally unique and contemporary way. His approach and themes generate a remarkable sensuality; the vibrancy of his colours is particularly apparent. A red armchair on a red-and-yellow Gabbeh creates a clear counterpoint to the pictures.
